Mark 10:49 “And Jesus stood still and commanded him to be called And they call the blind man, saying unto him, Be of good comfort rise he calleth thee.”

A man of God once said, “There is something about believing God that makes Him pass over a million people just to get to you”.

When God sees and hears faith, He moves into action. When Bartimaeus shouted in faith as Jesus was passing, defying the naysayers, he stood still. To stand still means to come to a sudden halt. In order words, he suspended every other activity to attend to the needs of a blind man.

Psalms 34:6 “This poor man cried and the LORD heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles.”

It doesn’t matter who and where you are, once you can call out in faith, you can command and “divert” the whole attention of heaven in your direction.

Friend, God still hears and answers prayer. Our requests are the raw materials they use in heaven. If nothing goes up, nothing comes down. Hear this:

Matthew 16:19 “And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.”

If you don’t bind on earth, nothing can be bound in heaven. If you don’t loose on earth, nothing can be loosed in heaven. Such is the dynamism of the New Testament believer. We are powerful beyond measure in Christ! Our prayers can always attract the attention of heaven.

The Greek word “stood still” as used here is translated to mean, “establish covenant”. In order words when we pray and call out to heaven, we literally invoke the power of the covenant of the word.

What a great joy to know that heaven can hear the voice of a man and suspend every other activity just to attend to him.

Joshua called out to heaven and the sun and moon stood still (Joshua 10:12,13), I’m glad to let you know that as you call out today, Jesus will equally stand still to attend to you!
