Mark 10:46 “And they came to Jericho: and as he went out of Jericho with his disciples and a great number of people, blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, sat by the highway side begging”

In our focal scripture, the Bible says; “…they came to Jericho: and as he went out of Jericho…” When I first read that phrase, I was wondering why it seems as if Jesus made an “aimless” trip to Jericho.

It appears as if he went to Jericho for leisure with his disciples, because it was recorded that they just entered the town and left. But then, as they were moving out of the town, the purpose of their visit was revealed.

Friend, I have news for you; God has stepped into your matter. The operations of God are silently going on for your sake. God has not forgotten about you. He is not on leisure, His coming to “Jericho” is just because of you.

Jesus’ trip was not aimless, he went to Jericho for Bartimaeus. All along He had you in mind. Hear this:

Proverbs 16:4 “GOD made everything with a place and purpose; even the wicked are included–but for judgment.” (MSG)

Everything God does is with a purpose. Even the wicked are included in it! The attacks of the enemy against you are all part of His grand ploy to get you to where He wanted you to be.

Beloved, be encouraged; He is visiting your town because of you. Bartimaeus might have been waiting for long in that position but in good time, God came through for him. God is after your wellbeing, He will not stop till things go right with you.

Psalms 36:6 “His purpose titanic, his verdicts oceanic. Yet in his largeness nothing gets lost; Not a man, not a mouse, slips through the cracks.” (MSG)

The purpose of God is great, the Bible calls it titanic and oceanic and within it, the issues and troubles of your life are already well captured. Despite the busy schedule of heaven, God attends to every one of us as if there is only one of us.
