JOHN
Luke 1:13 “…thou shalt call his name John.”

Luke 1:14 “And thou shalt have joy and gladness; and many shall rejoice at his birth.”

The name John simply means Jehovah is a gracious giver. You may have known God by different terrible names but until you know Him as John your Christian experience is not yet complete.

God is a lavish giver. He takes delight in surprising us and always surpassing our prayers and thoughts. As a matter of fact, if God only answers our prayers we will be miserable because we know not how we ought to pray (Romans 8:26).

If you’re traveling and you just prayed for journey mercies, how will you know the details of the trip. Like where the devil has planned attacks; the demons that want to strike, the obstacles on the road and so on. Since you don’t know the details God goes into operation to subdue contrary forces and enforces your safe arrival.

God is always excited when we pray and jumps to exceed our expectations.

Ephesians 3:20 “Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think according to the power that worketh in us,”

If you have not yet stepped into this dimension of God, you’re missing. God is a gracious and lavish giver. When He comes our way, He comes loud! He steps into our situations graciously, that is what we call miracle.

Zacharias and Elizabeth prayed and when God came with answers He gave them a bundle of joy.

The word John also means to bring joy and gladness. It means to bend or stoop in kindness to an inferior; to favor, merciful, surprise and so on. God is always bending and stooping low to help and favour us.

I pray for you today: May that long awaited miracle, come with the “John” dimension!

May the grace of God begin to speak for you. May God exceed your expectations. May you enjoy the serendipitous dimension of our Father in Jesus name!
