Mark 16:14 “Last of all, Jesus appeared to the eleven disciples as they were eating. He scolded them, because they did not have faith and because they were too stubborn to believe those who had seen him alive.” (GNB)

…From yesterday…

After scolding his disciples he went ahead and gave us the result of believing him. He said:

Mark 16:16 “He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved but he that believeth not shall be damned”

The first benefit of believing him is that we receive salvation. A believer is automatically translated from the kingdom of darkness to that of light. He becomes a confirmed candidate for heaven. He no longer needs to fear damnation in hell.

Mark 16:17 “And these signs shall follow them that believe In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;”

He then went ahead and gave us what is called signs. He said a believer possesses the ability to send devils packing. He has authority over unclean spirits. Demons, principalities and powers should tremble before a believer!

He also began to speak with new tongues, which is the heavenly language. Not only that:

Mark 16:18 “They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.”

A believer also have power to pick up serpents, meaning he has total control over demonic serpentine forces. He also becomes immune to poison!

A believer also have the capability to lay hands on the sick and see them recover. When a believer touches any sick person including himself, the sickness vanishes. What a joy to be a believer!

A believer is not a magician, he is simply one that have come to leverage on the power of a believe system that was paid for by the risen Christ.

The reason we are called believers is simply because we believe. What we believe determines what eventually come to us on the long run! Do you believe?
