Genesis 26:18 “And Isaac digged again the wells of water, which they had digged in the days of Abraham his father…and he called their names after the names by which his father had called them.”

…From yesterday…

Mike Murdock also said that, “Mentors are the difference between poverty and prosperity; decrease and increase; loss and gain; pain and pleasure; deterioration and restoration.”

Isaac didn’t bother himself trying to seek out new positions for the well and searching out new names, he simply followed a mentor. Everyone that faithfully follows a mentor gets handsomely rewarded.

Elisha was not the only son of the prophet in his days but he was the only one recorded as following Elijah very closely; serving him and pouring water on his hands, and it’s no wonder he was the one that ended up with a double portion of the anointing.

Joshua took over from Moses and ended up taken the children of Israel to the Promised Land. That was a great feat but what transformed Joshua to such a hero?

Deutronomy 34:9 “And Joshua the son of Nun was full of the spirit of wisdom; for Moses had laid his hands upon him: and the children of Israel hearkened unto him, and did as the LORD commanded Moses.”

I discovered two powerful things from the above scripture that a mentor can transfer to his mentee. One is wisdom and the other is the ability to influence people, situations and circumstances to listen to you. Moses made the journey of Joshua easy and what he couldn’t do in forty years, Joshua did in three days!

Solomon was not qualified by birth to be king, mentoring gave him the throne!

Proverbs 1:8 “My son, hear the instruction of thy father, and forsake not the law of thy mother:”

Solomon had several elder brothers but he was the one that sat with their father as a mentee.

Friend, who is grooming you? Somebody had dug those wells you’re laboring hard to dig in the past, locate them and ask them for the names, Selah!
