Genesis 26:18 “And Isaac digged again the wells of water, which they had digged in the days of Abraham his father; for the Philistines had stopped them after the death of Abraham: and he called their names after the names by which his father had called them.”

Genesis 26:19 “And Isaac’s servants digged in the valley, and found there a well of springing water.”

Isaiah 51: 1 & 2 depicts the principle of mentoring. The agenda of God is to make our lives easy by giving patterns to men which he expects others coming after them to imitate. Every man must be hewn from a rock and dug from a pit.

The truth is that we all start life at the level of Abraham; alone.

We were alone on the route to success just like Abraham who ended up getting blessed and becoming a blessing. God was saying here that anyone who can simply follow the example of Abraham have a predictable outcome, which is success.

Isaac didn’t reinvent the wheel, he followed examples. Friend, I am glad to let you know that who you follow determines the outcome of your life. You must know that there is nothing you want to do on earth that you will not find someone who has done it before. Somebody somewhere has travelled the road you’re about to travel, you have a responsibility to find that person and ask him questions.

Beloved, you will not live long enough to make all the mistakes you should make on the journey to success and to correct them. Don’t let your life be so full of mistakes that you don’t have enough time to fix.

It is only a fool that calls himself a self-made man! My spiritual father once told me that, scientifically, if a child is given birth to and kept in isolation for fifteen years during which nobody spoke to him but only given food, at the end of the fifteen years he won’t be able to speak.
