MENTORING-2

MENTORING-2
Genesis 26:18 “And Isaac digged again the wells of water, which they had digged in the days of Abraham his father; for the Philistines had stopped them after the death of Abraham: and he called their names after the names by which his father had called them.”

Genesis 26:19 “And Isaac’s servants digged in the valley, and found there a well of springing water.”

…From yesterday…

Isaac dug at the exact locations and called the wells by the same names. That was wisdom on display. He released the same spirits behind the word into operation. What a smart guy!

If Isaac didn’t do it the same way his daddy had done previously, he would have suffered. First he’ll have to go hire some “geologists” to help him do surveys on different areas to locate water and then start negotiation for the land and so on. He’ll also have to believe God for the correct names to call the wells.

Isaac didn’t bother himself, he simply followed the pattern of his father. Hear this:

Isaiah 51:1 “Hearken to me, ye that follow after righteousness, ye that seek the LORD: look unto the rock whence ye are hewn and to the hole of the pit whence ye are digged”

Isaiah 51:2 “Look unto Abraham your father, and unto Sarah that bare you: for I called him alone, and blessed him, and increased him.” (KJV)

Isaiah 51:1 “”Listen to me, all you who are serious about right living and committed to seeking GOD. Ponder the rock from which you were cut, the quarry from which you were dug.”

Isaiah 51:2 “Yes, ponder Abraham, your father, and Sarah, who bore you. Think of it! One solitary man when I called him, but once I blessed him, he multiplied.” (MSG)

Isaiah 51: 1 & 2 depicts the principle of mentoring. The agenda of God is to make our lives easy by giving patterns to men which he expects others coming after them to imitate. Every man must be hewn from a rock and dug from a pit.

To be continued…
