DESTRUCTIVE HELP-1

DESTRUCTIVE HELP-1
Genesis 26:1 “And there was a famine in the land, beside the first famine that was in the days of Abraham. And Isaac went unto Abimelech king of the Philistines unto Gerar.”

Famine may not be a good thing, but since we cannot always run away from it, we must know how to handle it each time it shows up. The first move of Isaac is always going to be the first move of many of us.

The first thing that came to his mind was who can I run to for help? This is the action of a man who is following God without trusting Him completely. Few years back Isaac suffered famine when his wife was barren. He knew that lack of a child was barrenness so he ran to God for help.

Genesis 25:21 “And Isaac intreated the LORD for his wife, because she was barren: and the LORD was intreated of him, and Rebekah his wife conceived”

Isaac called upon God and the famine in his home ended. His wife took in and gave birth to two boys. Now, there was famine in the land and all he could think of was to go seek for help from a fellow man that also needed help.

This is the problem of several believers. We know Him as God in some areas but not in others. Some people believe him for salvation but not for healing. Some trust him absolutely for their family but not for their jobs. Others trust Him for their health but not for their finances.

Friend, I want you to know that God is all weather. He is all in all, and there is nothing He cannot do. He is not limited by time and space. No problem can scare Him. There is no solution beyond Him. What He cannot do does not exist.

Matthew 19:26 “But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.”

Isaac didn’t understand this principle and he went looking for a destructive help!

To be continued…
