HARVEST TIME

HARVEST TIME
Ruth 1:22 “So Naomi returned and Ruth the Moabitess, her daughter in law, with her, which returned out of the country of Moab: and they came to Bethlehem in the beginning of barley harvest.”

Naomi and Ruth made it safely to Bethlehem at a very interesting time. The Bible records that they got back at the beginning of barley harvest.

In order words, they returned after the ground has been tilled, seeds planted, watered, weeds removed, labour expended and when fruits are now ready to be harvested. They didn’t come back to Bethlehem to labour, they came to join the harvest. Others have laboured to nurture the seeds to maturity, they only came to enjoy the labour of another.

Beloved, the time of barley harvest typifies your arrival into the Christian fold. Christ has fought the battles of life and conquered. He only brings us onboard to enjoy his finished work. He has fought and defeated the devil and only ask us to come enjoy the spoils of war.

Colossians 2:15 “[And] having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.”

John 16:33 “…be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.”

Christ has done the hardwork and has invited us to come enjoy his labour. A believer is one who has returned at the beginning of “barley harvest”. You need to relax and enjoy the harvest.

It will also interest you to know that the beginning of the barley harvest is a period between the ending of March and beginning of April. What a pleasant coincidence.

Friend, I have news for you; you have just stepped into a season of harvest of which you didn’t labour.

John 4:37 “And herein is that saying true, One soweth, and another reapeth.”

John 4:38 “I sent you to reap that whereon ye bestowed no labour: other men laboured, and ye are entered into their labours.”

Friend, welcome to your season of stress free harvest!

Love you BiG
