The NEW BEGINNING-1
Ruth 1:22 “So Naomi returned and Ruth the Moabitess, her daughter in law, with her, which returned out of the country of Moab: and they came to Bethlehem in the beginning of barley harvest.”

Our focal scripture shows that Naomi finally returned to Bethlehem the Promised Land but the interesting part of that scripture was not about her. The story simply changed focus from Naomi to Ruth.

This verse of scripture reminds us that the return was not just about Naomi but rather about Ruth, the new entrant into the Promised Land. The verse also reminded us in summary, the details of her life.

We were told she was a Moabitess, an accused woman from Moab. The statement reminds us that Ruth has done something which was almost impossible. Probably something that has never been done before. Hear this:

Deuteronomy 23:3 “An Ammonite or Moabite shall not enter into the congregation of the LORD; even to their tenth generation shall they not enter into the congregation of the LORD for ever:”

In order words, Ruth against all odds has entered into the congregation of the LORD. She defiled tradition and laid down rules and entered into the schedule of heaven.

In studying the Book of Ruth, I came to a conclusion that the book is not really about Naomi and her family but more about a new beginning for Ruth and the sovereignty of God. I learnt that God is always working behind the scene to make things right with us. The whole event that took place from the movement of Elimelech to Moab till the return was all carefully orchestrated to give Ruth a new lease of life.

Friend, it doesn’t matter the odds against you and your generation, your story can change. Laid down rules and generational limitations doesn’t have to stop you.

What stopped your progenitors can lose its grip over your life and destiny. You can have a new beginning. You can rewrite the story of your life.
