WEARY OUT THE OPPOSITION-2
Ruth 1:18 “When she saw that she was stedfastly minded to go with her, then she left speaking unto her.”

Ruth 1:18 “When Naomi saw that Ruth was determined to go with her, she stopped trying to persuade her.” (HCSB)

Friend, you must have the resolution of Ruth that can shut the mouth of every Naomi that is trying to stop you. When you embark on the road of destiny you must make up your mind that you’re in it for the long-haul.

To be a childless widow was to be among the lowest, most disadvantaged classes of people in the ancient world. You have no support, and you may have to live on the generosity of strangers. Ruth knew going to Judah could spell doom especially when they get to know she’s a Moabite, but yet she refused to bow to the voice of Naomi.

She was in a desperate situation but she refused to be debarred. Nothing anybody could say matters more than her vision. Her focus was simply unbreakable. She was like the Luke 18 woman:

Luke 18:2 “Saying, There was in a city a judge, which feared not God, neither regarded man:”

Luke 18:3 “And there was a widow in that city; and she came unto him, saying, Avenge me of mine adversary.”

Luke 18:4 “And he would not for a while: but afterward he said within himself, Though I fear not God, nor regard man;”

Luke 18:5 “Yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me.”

This woman wearied out a wicked judge. As a matter of fact it was like getting the devil to obey you or do your bidding! That’s the power of determination.

Remember this and never forget it:

Hebrews 10:39 “But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul.”

Hebrews 10:39 “But we’re not quitters who lose out. Oh, no! We’ll stay with it and survive, trusting all the way.” (MSG)
