STAY AND FIGHT-2
STAY AND FIGHT-2
Ruth 1:6 “Then she arose with her daughters in law, that she might return from the country of Moab: for she had heard in the country of Moab how that the LORD had visited his people in giving them bread.”
…From yesterday…
The word resist is not a “gentle word”, it is a militarized word that means to stand and fight against somebody or something. It means to oppose and stand firm against opposition. To refuse to accept, comply or give in to something. It is to refrain from something in spite of being tempted.
Famine hit the land but unfortunately, Elimelech and his family flee! The commandment is not to flee, it is to resist. Beloved, what is your demeanor to your current challenge? Who exactly is fleeing?
In converse, we can infer from James 4:7 that if you don’t resist the devil, you will flee from him! Elimelech didn’t resist the devil but rather “assisted” him, which is antithesis to the commandment of God.
In Moab, where Naomi and her family went on a sojourn the so called greener pasture has turned brownish. She had met with disaster and ended up with liabilities. In the passage of time Bethlehem became the pride of the Nations again and she heard the news. She heard that the LORD had visited his people.
Hear this:
Habakkuk 2:2 “And the LORD answered me, and said Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.”
Habakkuk 2:3 “For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak and not lie though it tarry wait for it; because it will surely come it will not tarry”
Friend, it doesn’t matter how long it seems, wait for it. Stand firm and refuse to move or compromise your stand in faith. The enemy might seem to be gaining the upper hand which is a form of famine, refuse to give in. Know for sure that the vision is for an appointed time and it will speak.
To be continued…
