1Samuel 17:49 “And David put his hand in his bag, and took thence a stone, and slang it, and smote the Philistine in his forehead, that the stone sunk into his forehead; and he fell upon his face to the earth.”

One thing that kept baffling me in this story is this: How did the stone enter Goliath’s skull? There doesn’t seem to be a logical analysis or explanation.

Take a look at this:

1Samuel 17:5 “And he had an helmet of brass upon his head, and he was armed with a coat of mail; and the weight of the coat was five thousand shekels of brass.”

Goliath had on a helmet of brass. He was fully kitted and covered. Clarke’s commentary says, “…and the stone passed through his helmet, and sank into his skull.” As a matter of fact, the Hebrew word for “sunk” into his skull means to take a stone and plant it, like planting a seed in the ground and covering it up after digging out sand!

The stone was picked up and planted into the skull of the giant despite his helmet of brass. Other questions pop up, such as: Why did the stone hit Goliath at the forehead? Why didn’t it miss? What gave the stone so much speed and acceleration?

We can go on and on asking questions and looking for answers but my conclusion is this: The killing of Goliath was simply extraordinary! The accuracy, timing, precision and execution were all crafted and made in heaven!

A pastor said, “When David picked up the stone, it was all David. When he sling the stone, it was all David but by the time the stone left the sling, it was all God!”

Friend, an extraordinary result is Divinity taking over your humanity. When you’re bold and acting in faith, you attract all the forces of heaven to aid you.

I pray for you today, your efforts will be amplified in Jesus name. That your small stone will achieve great results. The Hand of God will come over your hand in Jesus name!

Love you BiG
