1Samuel 17:51 “Therefore David ran and stood upon the Philistine, and took his sword, and drew it out of the sheath thereof, and slew him, and cut off his head therewith. And when the Philistines saw their champion was dead they fled”

…From yesterday…

The major problem of many people is not what they’re dealing with, that is why it seems the problems aren’t going away. Many of us major in minor and vice versa. When you deal with the champion, his cohorts will naturally flee from you.

The strategy of the enemy is always to plant a champion around our lives to keep us down. Goliath knew this so well that was why he said:

1Samuel 17:8 “And he stood and cried unto the armies of Israel, and said unto them, Why are ye come out to set your battle in array am not I a Philistine, and ye servants to Saul? choose you a man for you, and let him come down to me.”

1Samuel 17:9 “If he be able to fight with me, and to kill me, then will we be your servants: but if I prevail against him, and kill him, then shall ye be our servants, and serve us.”

Goliath showed them the principle but the issue was that they didn’t understand it. Many times all what we need do when confronted by assaults of the devil is an ability to discern the champion.

I’ve read about people battling with terminal diseases and seriously spending money to get healed but the problem refuse to go away only to discover there is a champion which they have refused to deal with. Champions such as: unforgiveness, malice, lack of respect for parents, anger and the like.

The champion is usually the root cause of a problem. Stop dealing with the branches, attack the issue once and for all from the root and the other little issues will vanish.

Judas Iscariot betrayed Jesus and committed suicide but the champion that actually killed him was his love for money. If he had dealt with the champion other soldiers would have fled from him.
