1Samuel 17:51 “Therefore David ran and stood upon the Philistine, and took his sword, and drew it out of the sheath thereof, and slew him, and cut off his head therewith. And when the Philistines saw their champion was dead they fled”

It is interesting to know from our focal scripture that immediately the Philistines saw that their champion was dead they fled. It is a war strategy to first attack and capture the command center of the adversary.

Once you can conquer the command center or defeat the commander, the battle is as good as won. The devil knows and understood this strategy so well. Hear this:

Matthew 26:31 “Then saith Jesus unto them, All ye shall be offended because of me this night: for it is written I will smite the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock shall be scattered abroad”

Once the shepherd or champion is defeated the subordinates must surely scatter. David struck the giant and the soldiers scattered.

Friend, for every battle against your life there is a champion. It is your responsibility to identify him and deal decisively with him. You see somebody battling with poverty and praying and fasting for God to deal with the issue for him meanwhile he is a certified gambler and alcoholic!

There is a champion against him. He simply need to deal with the gambling and poverty will leave him alone. Moses had a champion against him but unfortunately he didn’t deal with the champion.

The main champion against Moses was anger. His problem was not really with the children of Israel. They were frustrating him quite alright but assuming he had dealt with his anger, they wouldn’t have succeeded in moving him against God.

When you see a very stingy man battling poverty, you should know the champion against him is not poverty but rather stinginess.

When you see a believer in the company of unbelievers and always complaining of falling into one sin or the other. His problems are not those sins but rather the champion of wrong company.

To be continued…
