1Samuel 17:46 “This day will the LORD deliver thee into mine hand; and I will smite thee, and take thine head from thee; and I will give the carcases of the host of the Philistines this day unto the fowls of the air, and to the wild beasts of the earth; that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel.”

There is so much to learn from David. In our focal scripture David switched over to a “boasting mode”. He sounded very arrogant as he prepares to confront the giant.

Friend, when you know the LORD and what He can do, you should go ahead and just boast about it to the enemy. This is a serious spiritual mystery. It is the mystery of boasting or bragging in the Lord. Hear this:

Jeremiah 9:23 “GOD’s Message: “Don’t let the wise brag of their wisdom. Don’t let heroes brag of their exploits. Don’t let the rich brag of their riches.”

Jeremiah 9:24 “If you brag, brag of this and this only: That you understand and know me. I’m GOD, and I act in loyal love. I do what’s right and set things right and fair, and delight in those who do the same things. These are my trademarks.” GOD’s Decree.” (MSG)

This mystery is similar to that of praise and thanksgiving. The only difference is that you just keep talking and bragging about what God has done, can do, must do and will do either you have seen Him do it before or not.

To brag is to overemphasize the accomplishments of God and make excessively proud statements about Him. When you start bragging in the LORD, He steps into the matter to prove Himself faithful.

Even if you brag about the capability of a man, he will overstretch and outdo himself to live up to the bidding, how much more the LORD of hosts. When you get into that zone, you draw the battle line against the opposition.
