1Samuel 17:40 “And he took his staff in his hand, and chose him five smooth stones out of the brook, and put them in a shepherd’s bag which he had, even in a scrip; and his sling was in his hand: and he drew near to the Philistine.”

…From yesterday…

He defeated his enemies by His words:

Revelations 12:11 “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by THE WORD OF THEIR TESTIMONY; and they loved not their lives unto the death.”

God didn’t stop at that. He has magnified His word above all His names, in order to show us the value He places on His word:

Psalms 138:2 “I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.”

God sure has some very terrible and terrifying names but His word supersedes them all! A man of God said, “God loves words so much that he named himself THE WORD!”

In case you’re wondering how powerful God’s word is, hear this:

Hebrews 4:12 “For the word of God is quick and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”

Jeremiah 23:29 “Is not my word like as a fire? saith the LORD; and like a hammer that breaketh the rock in pieces”

I am so sure David had a revelation of these scriptutres before confronting Goliath. He knew the “stone” (word) is so powerful that it can penetrate anything. He knew once aimed at Goliath it can penetrate through his helmet into his head.

Friend, the efficacy of the word of God has not changed neither has it lost its power and potency. It can still penetrate deep into any challenge of your life.

Should in case the Goliath confronting you needs to melt by fire, the word is up to the task.

To be continued…
