INCOMPLETE DRESSING-1

INCOMPLETE DRESSING-1
1Samuel 17:38 “And Saul armed David with his armour, and he put an helmet of brass upon his head; also he armed him with a coat of mail.”

1Samuel 17:39 “And David girded his sword upon his armour, and he assayed to go for he had not proved it. And David said unto Saul, I cannot go with these; for I have not proved them. And David put them off him.”

A critical look at the armour Saul gave David in-comparison to a soldiers complete armour as described by the New Testament Saul in person of Apostle Paul shows some discrepancies. I noticed certain critical weapons were missing from the armory.

Ephesians 6:14 “Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth…”

Ephesians 6:15 “And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;”

Ephesians 6:16 “Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.”

Three (3) weapons were obviously missing, which are belt, shoe and shield. What Saul gave David were actually incomplete and insufficient weapons, no wonder the young man put them off.

Paul described the three as the belt of truth, shoe representing preparation of the gospel and shield representing faith. No serious warrior go to war without these three. If a man goes to war without these three he will definitely fail.

I was wondering why Saul will dress David with his armour and exclude these three until I started looking at them individually. The Devil is smart and will definitely want David to fail by all means.

Let’s look at them critically. The belt of truth is something very crucial to the dressing of a warrior. It is the one that holds the other pieces of clothing and armour together. It secures the outfit and allows the soldier to move freely. Hear this:

John 8:32 “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free”

One of the Satan’s greatest offensive strategy is deception and lies.
