DON’T LISTEN TO SAUL-2
1Samuel 17:33 “And Saul said to David, Thou art not able to go against this Philistine to fight with him: for thou art but a youth, and he a man of war from his youth.”

As earlier discussed, Eliab will come with abuses, Goliath will come with curses but Saul will attack you with discouragement. Once you can clearly identify them, you’ll be able to defeat them.

It is very easy to identify the “Sauls” if you listen carefully to them.

They’re experts at showing you all your inadequacies. Once a man keeps bringing up and reminding you of all your past failures and weaknesses, you must quickly identify and label him as Saul. The Eliabs, Goliath and Saul all have the same agenda; to stop you! The only difference is their use of words.

Saul did a Curriculum Vitae analysis of David and Goliath but David was smart enough to pick the subtle attack.

Friend, take note of the people that are quick to tell you that you cannot do something because you’re inferior. They come at you saying; you’re inexperienced, you’re not rich enough, not influential enough, not well trained, too young, too short, not handsome or beautiful enough, not from a well to do background and so on.

They have just one name: Saul, don’t listen to them! Like I said earlier, if a man promised you the best fabric in town, check what he is putting on.

Some will even judge you based on your family history or where you come from. Remember this episode:

John 1:46 “And Nathanael said unto him, Can there any good thing come out of Nazareth? Philip saith unto him, Come and see”

That was Jesus himself being confronted by Nathanael. Don’t let anybody use what you have or don’t have to limit or out-rightly stop you. Don’t let them use your skin colour or your father or mother’s non-achievement.

We have seen the children of nobodies become somebody. Don’t allow Saul stop you. He has resigned to fate, don’t join him on the sidelines of life!
