SIGNIFICANT AND INSIGNIFICANT BATTLES-4
1Samuel 17:28 “And Eliab his eldest brother heard when he spake unto the men; and Eliab’s anger was kindled against David, and he said Why camest thou down hither? and with whom hast thou left those few sheep in the wilderness? I know thy pride, and the naughtiness of thine heart; for thou art come down that thou mightest see the battle.”

…From yesterday…

One other thing to know is that; it is always when you are facing the significant battles that the insignificant ones show up. When you confront Goliath, the Eliabs are definitely lurking behind the scene.

You’ll discover that most times, the day you set aside to fast and pray concerning a destiny making decision is when your appetite refuses to cooperate. People easily say God understands and go ahead to eat failing to understand the spiritual undertone.

As a student, you’re in school to read and study but you get carried away and encumbered with social activities that seems nice but at the end of the day takes away valuable time from the time you’ve dedicated to read and study. Those insignificant battles are designed to distract you from the significant ones.

Your significant battles are designed to take you to your throne in life but the insignificant ones will always show up to distract you from them.

Another thing to note and never forget is that significant battles like Goliath will come with curses while the insignificant will show up with abuses.

1Samuel 17:43 “And the Philistine said unto David, Am I a dog, that thou comest to me with staves? And the Philistine CURSED David by his gods.”

1Samuel 17:28 “…I know thy pride, and the naughtiness of thine heart; for thou art come down that thou mightest see the battle.”

If you check the words of Goliath and Eliab critically, you’ll see that there is a great difference. Goliath attacked David with curses while Eliab kept raining abuses.

Eliab called David proud and naughty but Goliath released curses.
