TURN AWAY-3

TURN AWAY-3
1Samuel 17:30 “And he turned from him toward another, and spake after the same manner: and the people answered him again after the former manner.”

…From yesterday…

Our “Eliabs” does not necessarily have to be a man; it could be a well-paying job or career. It could be a place or even a habit! `There is nobody truly great that didn’t turn away from something. Even Jesus had to leave heaven to come to earth!

2Corinthians 8:9 “For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor that ye through his poverty might be rich”

Jesus didn’t just leave heaven, he left wealth, riches, glory and power as well; just to come down for our sakes.

Genesis 12:1 “Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee:”

Genesis 12:2 “And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great and thou shalt be a blessing:”

We all love the blessings of Abraham and his faith as well but have you considered what the seventy five years old man had to turn away from?

Abraham had to turn away from his home country, friends, gods and the comfort of his father’s house before he could arrive at Canaan, the Promised Land.

We can see from Genesis 12:1 & 2 that it was after he had turned away that God told him about making him a great nation, blessing him, making his name great and becoming a blessing.

Do you remember his sacrifice of Isaac? It was all about turning away! So, if you truly desire and want the blessings of Abraham, first sit down and determine what to turn away from!

Don’t let comfort keep you back from becoming all you can be. Know what to turn away from and what to turn towards; that’s one of the secrets of champions!
