BECOME A MAN-4

BECOME A MAN-4
1Samuel 17:8 “And he stood and cried unto the armies of Israel, and said unto them, Why are ye come out to set your battle in array am not I a Philistine, and ye servants to Saul? choose you a man for you, and let him come down to me.”

…From yesterday…

The second quality we saw from 1Samuel 16:12 is that, David was of a “beautiful countenance”. These two words are not just talking about external appearance or beauty, they revealed a great truth about the man David.

The Hebrew translation of those words mean to be humble, to have knowledge and to have regard and resemble God. Those are very interesting words.

Beloved, you will never go far in the journey of life if you’re proud. The major problem with pride is that, the devil will not fight you, neither will his angels and demons. God himself will become your main opposition.

James 4:6 “But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.”

If God opposes a man, who will be his advocate?

This quality also shows that David was knowledgeable. This kind of knowledge is experiential knowledge. What you have seen and handled. David wasted no time in telling Goliath he is an uncircumcised Philistine. He knew the power of the covenant that God had cut with their fathers.

Knowledge was one of the major keys used in defeating Goliath. If David didn’t have sufficient information about the Living God and the covenant, he would have joined his brothers in running away.

Real men are knowledgeable and they trade covenant secrets. David sure has a working knowledge of God.

Friend, knowledge is a confidence booster and faith enhancer. It dispels confusion and makes champion of ordinary men. The Bible is a container of the infinite wisdom of God. Every information you need to floor your enemy is contained therein, don’t ever joke with the Word!
