INVITATION TO BATTLE-2
1Samuel 17:8 “And he stood and cried unto the armies of Israel, and said unto them, Why are ye come out to set your battle in array am not I a Philistine, and ye servants to Saul? choose you a man for you, and let him come down to me.”

1Samuel 17:9 “If he be able to fight with me, and to kill me, then will we be your servants: but if I prevail against him, and kill him, then shall ye be our servants, and serve us.”

…From yesterday…

Beloved, we are not the poor trying to get rich but the rich trying to maintain the wealth gotten from Christ. We are not the sick trying to get well but rather the healed fighting to maintain our health.

Friend, several things in life will invite us to battle, the way Goliath did in our focal scripture. We will always confront these “Goliaths” on daily basis. The problem is that most of the “Goliath’s” invitation to battle are very subtle and quiet.

They may not come shouting and boasting like David’s Goliath but they’ll surely come. When you wake up and suddenly feel a headache, wisdom should tell you that a Goliath is lurking round your body and health.

Goliath is simply telling your health he has come to take over its territory. It is now left for you to see it as such and refuse to concede to his demands or run like Saul and Co.

It is time for regular and normal promotion in your office and suddenly a policy came out that you’ll have to wait for another year. That’s a Goliath.

You started a business and it was doing well until suddenly another person came and setup the same type of business around your vicinity. You might think he’s just doing his own business but the truth is that Goliath has silently drawn the battle line.

Friend, don’t be naïve, be sensitive to detect an invitation to battle from way off.
