INVITATION TO BATTLE-1
1Samuel 17:8 “And he stood and cried unto the armies of Israel, and said unto them, Why are ye come out to set your battle in array am not I a Philistine, and ye servants to Saul? choose you a man for you, and let him come down to me.”

1Samuel 17:9 “If he be able to fight with me, and to kill me, then will we be your servants: but if I prevail against him, and kill him, then shall ye be our servants, and serve us.”

Beloved, life is not fair. People, situations and things will always invite us to battle. If you believe you don’t need to fight, you’ll remain a mediocre for life. The territory you want to occupy is not vacant, you must simply learn to contend for it. Hear this:

1Timothy 6:12 “Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.”

Jude 1:3 “Beloved…it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that YE SHOULD EARNESTLY CONTEND FOR THE FAITH which was once delivered unto the saints.”

Paul was telling his son Timothy that he has been called unto eternal life and must therefore fight for it. When you fight the good fight of faith, you’ll be able to lay hold on eternal life.

You’ll discover that when you pray for something, the devil will always challenge your faith, he will send a barricade of doubt and unbelief after you, all in an attempt to discourage you. Even though it looks subtle, it is an invitation to battle. Jude also counseled that we must earnestly contend for the faith.

You may say but Jesus has already won the battles of life for us. Very true but you must realize we are not fighting for victory, we are fighting from victory.

We are not the poor trying to get rich but the rich trying to maintain the wealth gotten from Christ.
