KNOW GOD-6
1Samuel 17:36 “Thy servant slew both the lion and the bear: and this uncircumcised Philistine shall be as one of them, seeing he hath defied THE ARMIES OF THE LIVING GOD.”

1Samuel 17:37 “David said moreover, The LORD that delivered me out of the paw of the lion, and out of the paw of the bear, he will deliver me out of the hand of this Philistine. And Saul said unto David, Go and the LORD be with thee.”

…From yesterday…

Friend, no matter what life throws at you, never doubt the efficacy and efficiency of our God. Hear this:

Psalms 135:15 “The idols of the heathen are silver and gold, the work of men’s hands.”

Psalms 135:16 “They have mouths, but they speak not; eyes have they, but they see not;”

Psalms 135:17 “They have ears, but they hear not; neither is there any breath in their mouths.”

Psalms 135:18 “They that make them are like unto them: so is every one that trusteth in them.”

I just love David! That young man is a colossal of revelations. In our focal scripture he calls himself and even the fidgety and scared soldiers’ army of the Living God. He was operating and talking from a revelation point of view.

He was young but he sure knows something the king and others knew nothing about. David took time to listen to Goliath. Hear what Goliath said:

1Samuel 17:10 “And the Philistine said I defy the armies of Israel this day; give me a man, that we may fight together.”

1Samuel 17:43 “And the Philistine said unto David, Am I a dog, that thou comest to me with staves? And the Philistine cursed David by his gods.”

In critical battles and warfare of life, take time to listen and scrutinize the words of your enemy carefully. Two things David deduced from the words of Goliath are:

a) Goliath called Saul’s men the armies of Israel. The truth is that they were not armies of Israel.
