KNOW GOD-1

KNOW GOD-1
1Samuel 17:36 “Thy servant slew both the lion and the bear: and this uncircumcised Philistine shall be as one of them, seeing he hath defied the armies of the living God.”

1Samuel 17:37 “David said moreover, The LORD that delivered me out of the paw of the lion, and out of the paw of the bear, he will deliver me out of the hand of this Philistine. And Saul said unto David, Go and the LORD be with thee.”

Beloved, what you see in time of battle determines what you get. If you see the enemy bigger than God, he wins and vice versa. The question is who are you describing? The enemy or God? Who you describe shows who you know better!

David didn’t describe Goliath and his weapons, he described God. He cares less about the armory of Goliath but rather about the God who created both Goliath and his weapons of war.

What David said about God in our focal scripture looked small compared to the gigantic description of Goliath, but the truth is that, those statements contain some of the most powerful truths and details about God that we should know and have at our fingertips!

Let me share three things we should know and never forget about God from the statement of David:

1) GOD IS A DELIVERER: Something you should and must know about our God is that; He is a Mighty Deliverer. It doesn’t matter how fierce or thick the battle against our lives are, if we can hold on to Him and keep the faith, He’ll surely deliver us. Nobody delivers from danger like Him. He is just awesome.

David strategically recalled the past deliverances God wrought for him, using it as a platform for his next victory. I love what he said in one of his Psalms:

Psalms 44:1 “We have heard with our ears, O God, our fathers have told us, what work thou didst in their days, in the times of old.”
