1Samuel 17:1 “Now the Philistines gathered together their armies to battle…and pitched between Shochoh and Azekah, in Ephesdammim.”

…From yesterday…

The Shochoh, Azekah and Ephesdammim serpentine principles are still what the enemy throws at us today. You tune your radio and a particular demonic song is playing on almost every channel, you switch on the television set and it’s the same song.

In a matter of days, you start singing the song which you hated when you first heard it unconsciously! How did the song get into your heart? You were surrounded on every channel till it influenced you.

Everybody in your office are getting promoted except you, after years you decided to find out why and you were told you must belong to a particular cult before you can be promoted. You refused and the promotion is put on hold, you’re gradually being surrounded!

Everybody around you are making good sales with hefty profits except you. You went to enquire and you were told of a “good-luck charm” which they’re hanging within their premises. You got back home, only to start considering whether to go purchase the “harmless charm” or not. Friend, you’re gradually being surrounded, beware!

The enemy will not come to physically build a wall of containment around your life as in the days of old. He’ll simply use words, pictures and thoughts to build these walls.

As a student the enemy can position a demonic teacher who keeps telling you, you’re dull and can’t pass in his class and will fail in life; that’s a containment strategy. The enemy shows advertisement of alcohol on television with popular celebrities drinking and after some days of repeated broadcast, you start considering drinking in order to become like them, you’re gradually being contained.

Hear this advise from Solomon:

Proverbs 4:23 “Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.”

You have a duty to mount guard like a soldier over your heart, be sensitive to information entering it and quickly block off limiting thoughts.

Friend, refuse to be contained!
