NAIN

NAIN
Luke 7:11 “And it came to pass the day after, that he went into a city called Nain; and many of his disciples went with him, and much people.”

When Jesus was done at Capernaum, he left for another city called Nain. As we saw in our previous meditations, Capernaum means “Village of comfort”, “be or make comfortable”, or “be at ease”. So he left the place of comfort and entered Nain.

The word Nain had a Hebrew origin which means “a pasture”, “a pleasant place”, “beautiful” and “to be pleasant or suitable”.

I love the way Jesus selects his journeys. He moved from comfort to pleasant and to a beautiful place. Friend, watch your journeys in life. Don’t keep running from pillar to post, disaster to disaster, debt to debt, trouble to problems.

Ask God to guide you and order your steps aright. Hear this:

Psalms 37:23 “The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way”

Be a man whose ways and directions are set by God. Involve God in your movement and travels. Your head and senses are too small to know things that lies ahead of you. Let God guide you from Capernaum to Nain!

In our focal scripture, Jesus didn’t go alone; “…and many of his disciples went with him, and much people.” (Luke 7:11)

These folks are smart, the disciples kept following Jesus and the “much people” as well and he kept leading them from “comfort” to “pasture” and “beauty”. Today we equally have the Personal Jesus, the Holy Spirit Himself. When you follow Him, He will lead you aright. Hear David:

Psalms 23: 2 “He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.”

He knows where the pasture (Nain) is and where the waters are still. When you follow Him, you can never go wrong!

The woman in Nain lost her son, but he came back to life. I pray for you today, the enemy will not turn your beautiful place to a place of sorrow in Jesus name.

Love you BiG
