DIVINE ALLIANCE-2

DIVINE ALLIANCE-2
Luke 7:3 “And when he heard of Jesus, he sent unto him the elders of the Jews, beseeching him that he would come and heal his servant.”

…From yesterday…

David was also a one-man-army, but he understood the power of divine alliance and knew when to switch to teamwork.

David single handedly killed Goliath; a lion and a bear, but he didn’t continue that way he employed the help of other men who later became his mighty men.

This centurion was a military man and he knew the power of team work. So, when the need arose he ran to the elders. He couldn’t get to Jesus directly but he sure knew the elders who can go on his behalf.

If you study the weapons of our warfare carefully, you’ll discover something interesting:

Ephesians 6:11 “Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.”

Ephesians 6:14 “Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;”

Ephesians 6:15 “And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;”

Ephesians 6:16 “Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.”

Ephesians 6:17 “And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:”

I discovered that; for every part of our body we have a defensive gadget in place. We have our loins, chest, feet, face and head well covered. The only part exposed is our back. That is the reason why we need a backup especially for days such as the one the centurion found himself.

Part of our divine alliance are those elders, they stepped in and Jesus met the need of the centurion on their account. Both at work and business, or even ministry, we all can make do with a little help, someone who can always put in a word for us; our intercessor!

To be continued…
