DIVINE ALLIANCE-1
DIVINE ALLIANCE-1
Luke 7:3 “And when he heard of Jesus, he sent unto him the elders of the Jews, beseeching him that he would come and heal his servant.”
We see from our focal scripture that the centurion didn’t approach Jesus directly, he sent the elders of the Jews. He couldn’t approach Jesus primarily because he was not a Jew.
He must have asked around and discovered that Jesus attends only to the Jews, because as of this time he had not yet gone to the cross. Jesus himself said it:
Matthew 15:24 “But he answered and said I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.”
This man knew this fact but he was very smart, he simply went and spoke to the elders of the Jews who in turn approached Jesus on his behalf.
Friend, we all need divine alliances and linkages in life. You will be very miserable in life without having proper alliances in place. Lone rangers don’t last long. We all need men who can stand for us on the day of battle.
My spiritual father said, “There is “I” battle and “We” battles in life”. There are battles you can fight alone and the ones you need a company of men to combat and win.
One of the reasons the “Great” Samson didn’t last for long on the battle field is that he was a one-man-riot squad. He did well for himself but he quickly fizzled out because he ran out of steam. Don’t get to a place where you need help and discover you have no one to turn to because of the way you have been living your life.
Even Samson eventually asked for the help of a small boy before he performed his last feat. If only he had been asking for help much earlier in his life, he wouldn’t have ended the way he did.
David was also a one-man-army, but he understood the power of divine alliance and knew when to switch to teamwork.
To be continued…
