Luke 7:2 “And a certain centurion’s servant, who was dear unto him, was sick, and ready to die”

Luke 7:3 “And when he heard of Jesus, he sent unto him the elders of the Jews, beseeching him that he would come and heal his servant.”

I want you to know that what we hear have the capacity to dictate our actions. What we hear is so powerful that it can either make or mare us. This centurion must have tried several options to get his beloved servant healed but nothing worked until he heard and came to Jesus.

What we hear is very powerful. The story of the woman with the issue of blood attest to this.

Mark 5:26 “And had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered but rather grew worse”

This woman was sick for twelve solid years and during those years she kept moving from physician to physician. Why was she doing this? She was on the lookout for healing and once she hears of a good physician she consults him. She did this repeatedly and before she knew what was happening twelve years and many physicians had passed.

But, one day her condition changed. That was the day she heard right.

Mark 5:27 “When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment.”

Friend, hearing right about Jesus is the beginning of your miracle. Where you are today is an accumulation of what you have heard and what you’re hearing.

A professor, engineer, medical doctor et al are all products of what they heard in school. You cannot become anything outside what you’ve heard. We’re products of the words spoken to us.

It therefore goes that if we hear right our live will turn out right and vice versa.

In our focal scripture, the bible didn’t tell us what the centurion heard about Jesus but whoever spoke to him about Jesus must have done a great job.

To be continued…
