PRECIOUS THINGS-1

PRECIOUS THINGS-1
Luke 7:1 “Now when he had ended all his sayings in the audience of the people, he entered into Capernaum.”

Luke 7:2 “And a certain centurion’s servant, who was dear unto him, was sick, and ready to die”

Our focal scripture shows that the devil always go for the things that are precious to us. We can deduce from this passage that the centurion had other servants but this particular one stands head and shoulders above the rest.

This servant was very dear to him and he was willing to go all out for him. Friend, the devil is always interested in the things we hold so dear. When things are special and precious to us, they are objects of attacks by the enemy.

The word dear as used here means “held in honour”, “prized”, “precious” and “special”. In order words, this servant was special to the centurion and he holds him in high esteem.

Friend, you must understand that just like this servant was precious to the centurion, we are equally precious, special and highly prized by God, that is why the devil is ever after us. Hear this:

John 3:16 “For God so loved the world…”

John 17:23 “I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, AND HAST LOVED THEM, AS THOU HAST LOVED ME.”

I want you to know that the same love God has for Christ is the same love He has for us. We’re the object of the love of God. He loved us with an everlasting love.

Jeremiah 31:3 “The LORD hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee.”

Now, you understand why the attack of the enemy is so fierce against you; your family, business, career and ministry. The devil knows every aspect of your life is precious to God so he attacks not just to halt you but to get at God.

To be continued…

Love you BiG
