Exodus 17:12 “But Moses’ hands were heavy; and they took a stone, and put it under him, and he sat thereon; and Aaron and Hur stayed up his hands, the one on the one side, and the other on the other side; and his hands were steady until the going down of the sun.”
Moses stayed on the mountain with lifted hands but a time came his hands became heavy. The word heavy as used here amongst other things mean to feel stupid, tired, weak and grievous.
Beloved, have you ever been in that position before? When you’re believing God for a miracle and you’ve done everything right but it seems the answer is delaying. That’s a position where your hands are becoming heavy.
When you become weak and tired you are creating an in-road for the enemy. I have since discovered that believing God and standing in faith could sometimes make us feel ridiculous and “stupid”.
Imagine a tough war going on, and you’re holding up a rod, when you could easily pick up a sword and help out! That’s what faith is all about. Somebody said the miraculous is always hidden in the ridiculous. When standing in faith, you must never allow the enemy sow seeds of doubt, weariness and tiredness into your life.
There are times we feel weak in our body and our pastor says, “Just believe God and start confessing healing scriptures”, that can make us feel stupid and weary but that’s the pathway to divine healing. You need finances to fund a project and you were told to go give what you have as seed, that’s not an easy thing to do.
That’s why Paul admonished us to:
1Timothy 6:12 “Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life…”
The world belongs to fighters and we must be ready to fight every form of feeling of stupidity, fear and weakness. We must never give the devil a handle to torment us.
Beloved, fight every form of weakness at the place of prayer, don’t let your hands come down.
