Exodus 17: 10 “So Joshua did as Moses had said to him, and fought with Amalek: and Moses, Aaron, and Hur went up to the top of the hill.”

…From yesterday…

Deuteronomy 12:32 “What thing soever I command you, observe to do it: thou shalt not add thereto, nor diminish from it.”

This is another dangerous form of obedience. In this type of obedience, the person hears the instruction, understands it but feels it is not adequate therefore he adds to it. He mixes something else with the instruction.

Friend, the instructions of God are meant to be strictly adhered to, your input is not required. If God says the Blood of Jesus has redeemed us, it means just that, don’t add the blood of goat to your own. If God says it is white don’t add another colour to it.

You might be asking yourself what about the place of creativity? God gave us brains quite alright but don’t let it undermine the instruction of God to you. If you need clarity ask Him but know that mixing or adding up to divine instructions is a grievous sin in the sight of God. Follow Him to the letter!

Colossians 3:6 “For which things’ sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience:”

Romans 5:19 “For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.”

I use to jokingly say that, when we get to heaven, God might need to give Adam and Eve special security because the whole world would need an explanation from them on why they decided to eat the forbidden fruit. We know that all the problems in the world are simply traceable to disobedience.

Disobedience is outright disregard for an instruction. It is refusing or failure to obey a rule, instruction, or authority, or somebody giving an instruction or in authority. Disobedience leads to all forms of calamity and a disobedience child will always attract wrath and discipline.

To be continued…
