Colossians 3:23 “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as though you were working for the Lord and not for people.” (GNT)

Daniel 1:4 shows us the criteria used in Babylon to pick the palace workers. Friend, each day ask yourself this questions, Do I have the ability to stand in the King’s palace? Is the quality of my work fit for nobility?

The idea is this, give whatever you do your best shot, you’re not doing it unto the king but the King of kings is watching!

You must make sure that, “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as though you were working for the Lord and not for people.”

People may complain and call you a “perfectionist” or “workaholic”, it doesn’t matter. You know it is not unto them but unto HIM. You may even work and men refuse to compensate you, don’t be discouraged, God sure knows how to reward you. That’s why the Bible calls Him “the Rewarder” (Hebrews 11:6).

1Corinthians 3:13 “Eventually there is going to be an inspection…The inspection will be thorough and rigorous. You won’t get by with a thing.” (MSG)

Friend, God will surely come to test the quality of the work we do either in secret or in public. He knows if you’re giving it your best shot or not. Hear this:

Ephesians 6:6 “Don’t just do what you have to do to get by, but work heartily, as Christ’s servants doing what God wants you to do.”

Ephesians 6:7 “And work with a smile on your face, always keeping in mind that no matter who happens to be giving the orders, you’re really serving God.”

Ephesians 6:8 “Good work will get you good pay from the Master, regardless of whether you are slave or free.” (MSG)

Friend, you must break free from the clutches of mediocrity and give whatever you’re doing your best shot!
