PITFALL 3: DEALING WITH MEDIOCRITY-7
Colossians 3:23 “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as though you were working for the Lord and not for people.” (GNT)

…From yesterday…

Exodus 31:3 “I’ve filled him with the Spirit of God, giving him skill and know-how and expertise in every kind of craft”

Exodus 31:4 “to create designs and work in gold, silver, and bronze;”

Exodus 31:5 “to cut and set gemstones; to carve wood–he’s an all-around craftsman.”

God needed workmen for the Ark of Covenant and the temple and he didn’t even use Moses or Aaron. He gave Moses the template but gave Bezaleel the needed skill. God chose professionals for each aspect of the work.

Exodus 38:23 “And with him was Aholiab, son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan, an engraver, and a cunning workman and an embroiderer in blue, and in purple, and in scarlet, and fine linen.”

Friend, that shows you how excellent and meticulous God is with the work of our hands. He doesn’t do mediocre stuff. He always go for the best. If excellence is what He uses to choose His men, can you qualify?

Friend, you must up your game and leave the region of mediocrity. All these late coming to the office, closing early before the stipulated time, not giving the job proper attention, making silly mistakes and so on are being checked in heaven.

A day is coming when a demand will be made for an excellent man or woman in a particular field, heaven sure knows who and who to recommend. If you think you’re deceiving your boss and doing mediocre work for him, he might not even know but your “real” employer sure knows. Look at this account:

Daniel 1:4 “Children in whom was no blemish, but well favoured, and skilful in all wisdom, and cunning in knowledge, and understanding science, and SUCH AS HAD ABILITY IN THEM TO STAND IN THE KING’S PALACE, and whom they might teach the learning and the tongue of the Chaldeans.”
