PITFALL 3: DEALING WITH MEDIOCRITY-5
Colossians 3:23 “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as though you were working for the Lord and not for people.” (GNT)

…From yesterday…

After picking up courage, he moved into action and they crossed the river Jordan into the Promised Land in just three (3) days!

The difference between forty years and three days is just courage. I want you to note that courage is not the absence of fear, it is acting despite fear. It is the quality of being brave. The dictionary says, “It is the ability to face danger, difficulty, uncertainty, or pain without being overcome by fear or being deflected from a chosen course of action.”

Friend, I want you to do a soul search to be sure you’re not stagnant because of fear or discouragement. If that is the case, you need to go back and pick up your courage where you dropped it.

4. TRUST GOD
Mediocrity is averageness and a satisfaction with the ordinary or common. A man that will break loose from the claws of mediocrity must be ready to trust God absolutely. He must be ready to see from God’s perspective and accept what God says as his own normal.

Joshua 14:8 “Nevertheless my brethren that went up with me made the heart of the people melt but I WHOLLY FOLLOWED the LORD my God.”

Joshua 14:9 “And Moses sware on that day, saying Surely the land whereon thy feet have trodden shall be thine inheritance, and thy children’s for ever, because thou hast wholly followed the LORD my God.”

Caleb laid credence to this point. One thing that helped him overcome the menace of mediocrity is his absolute trust in God. He never for once doubt God, but simply aligned his vision with the vision of God.

Joshua 14:8 “The other spies said things that made our people afraid, but I completely trusted the LORD God.” (CEV)

His trust in God was total and absolute. The question is this; to what degree do you trust God? Beloved, what God promised is a reality.
