PITFALL 3: MEDIOCRITY-5

PITFALL 3: MEDIOCRITY-5
Job 18:10 “The snare is laid for him in the ground, and a trap for him in the way.”

Colossians 3:23 “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as though you were working for the Lord and not for people.” (GNT)

…From yesterday…

Deuteronomy 8:8 “A land of wheat, and barley, and vines, and fig trees, and pomegranates; a land of oil olive, and honey;”

What God promised the children of Israel is a land filled with wheat, barley, oil olive, honey and so on. That is far more excellent than whatever they have “enjoyed” but because Egypt had shaped their minds, many live a mediocre life.

Friend, what are you holding unto that is preventing you from seeing excellent things? Many grew up in a rented apartment and as such it never occurred to them that they can build. Many managed to bag a university degree probably the first in their lineage and so can’t think of getting a Masters or even a PhD.

We are a sum total of our previous experiences and most of the time they keep us on the same spot. One thing you must realize is this, there will always be something better than whatever you have achieved!

3. OUR COMPANY
A company talks about the people we associate with. Our companions, our group or gathering. Company is also a state of being together with other people.

One of the strongest factors that limit or make a man limitless is the group or company he finds himself. Hear this:

Numbers 13:31 “But the men that went up with him said We be not able to go up against the people; for they are stronger than we.”

Numbers 14:1 “And all the congregation lifted up their voice, and cried and the people wept that night.”

In Numbers 13, Moses sent twelve men to go and spy out the Promised Land and bring back report. The men went and ten came back with the report in Numbers 13:31. What baffled me however was what happened next!

To be continued…
