PITFALL 1: PRIDE-7

PITFALL 1: PRIDE-7
Proverbs 8:13 “To fear the LORD is to hate evil; I hate pride and arrogance, evil behavior and perverse speech.” (NIV)

…From yesterday…

3. DEMONIC INSTIGATION
1Timothy 3:6 “Not a novice, lest being lifted up with pride he fall into the condemnation of the devil.”

The third reason I see that causes pride is what I call demonic instigation. The devil can easily influence a man with the spirit of pride. Pride is one pitfall the devil understand so well. This was the pitfall that sent him away from heaven.

Isaiah 14:12 “How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!”

Isaiah 14:13 “For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:”

The devil lost his place in heaven and he is now on earth and he knows that one thing that can easily push a man out of his place and position with God is pride.

How do you know you’re already walking along this path? Isaiah 14:13 clarifies that. In that singular verse the devil used the phrase “I will” three times. Here is the gist, when you always put yourself first, you are already walking under the influence of this demonic force.

Once you always want everything to revolve around you, there is danger. You will never go far in life and destiny with the attitude of “Me, Myself and I”.

It is very easy to fall into this condemnation of the devil without being aware of it. Everything must not revolve around you, even as a boss, you cannot achieve success by your strength alone. We all have received the help of others at one time or the other and above all we have all experienced the help of God.

Beware of this deception of the devil each day, it’s subtle but very destructive.
