Keep your gaze on Jesus-4
Matthew 14:30 “But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink…”
Adam and Eve saw something different from God; their attention was diverted from Jehovah to the forbidden fruit and guess what happened next?
Genesis 3:10 “And he said I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid…”
After taking their gaze away from God, they became afraid. Does that look familiar?
Matthew 14:30 “But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid…”
The moment you stop looking at Jesus, fear sets in and it ends in sinking. Adam and Eve took their eyes away from God and His instructions and they found themselves outside the Garden.
Friend, the devil is not using new tricks, he is still using the power of sight and fear to cause men to sink and drown.
Judas Iscariot was a man who was looking at Jesus until the devil shifted his gaze to money and the cares of this world. I also remember Uzziah:
2Chronicles 26:5 “And he sought God in the days of Zechariah, who had understanding in the visions of God: and as long as he sought the LORD, God made him to prosper”
Uzziah eventually shifted his attention from God and ended up a leper!
2Chronicles 26:21 “And Uzziah the king was a leper unto the day of his death…for he was cut off from the house of the LORD:”
What do I tell you about the great and wise king Solomon?
1Kings 11:1 “But king Solomon loved many strange women, together with the daughter of Pharaoh, women of the Moabites, Ammonites, Edomites, Zidonians, and Hittites;”
1Kings 11:4 “For it came to pass, when Solomon was old, that his wives turned away his heart after other gods: and his heart was not perfect with the LORD his God…”
As wise as Solomon was, he shifted his gaze from God and fell. Never allow the noise in the world distract you from Jesus. Don’t fall for this old trick of the enemy. You will not sink in Jesus name!
