Keep your gaze on Jesus-3
Keep your gaze on Jesus-3
Matthew 14:30 “But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me.”
…From yesterday…
Why must we keep our gaze on Him?
Job 9:8 “Which alone spreadeth out the heavens, and treadeth upon the waves of the sea.”
Before the episode in Matthew 14, Job had already written that God walks upon the waves of the sea. God knew the route, He knows all the techniques. All He requires us to do is to follow His footsteps. When you step where He has stepped, you will never go down.
Friend, our journey on earth requires a very skillful guide, one who knows his onions well. We need a Guide who has been walking on the waves of the sea right from the inception of the earth.
The waves don’t and can’t intimidate Him. He knows what it takes to navigate all the rough waters. Such is the CV of our Lord and Master. Let him show you how to tread upon storms.
I must warn you that the boisterous wind has one ambition; to make us lose focus and sight of Jesus. Once this is done, fear sets in and we start to sink. The enemy will use this weapon from his arsenal to truncate the destiny of any believer that allows him.
Don’t be a victim to this old trick of the enemy. He used it on Adam and Eve. What the devil did was to simply divert their attention from God to the forbidden fruit which they ate.
Genesis 3:6 “And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat”
Adam and Eve saw something different from God; their attention was diverted from Jehovah to the forbidden fruit and guess what happened next?
Genesis 3:10 “And he said I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid…”
To be continued…
