Catching up moment-4

Catching up moment-4
Matthew 14:28 “And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water.”

…From yesterday…

Each time I look at the story of Elisha and Elijah I wonder the kind of heart Elisha has. I think he’s probably one of the most patient men the world has ever seen.

He wanted a double portion of his master’s anointing, his master knew but stretched him to the limit. Before Elisha’s dream came to pass his perseverance was tested. He was made to travel to different cities, given negative prophecies, discouraged intentionally but he never gave up.

His master then gave him a clue:

2 Kings 2:10 “And he said, Thou hast asked a hard thing: [nevertheless], if thou see me [when I am] taken from thee, it shall be so unto thee; but if not, it shall not be [so].”

Elijah was simply telling him to watch out for the catching up moment, this was long after Elisha’s perseverance had been stretched to its maximum limit.

Finally, the big moment came and the man of long perseverance seized it.

2 Kings 2:11 “And it came to pass, as they still went on, and talked, that, behold, [there appeared] a chariot of fire, and horses of fire, and parted them both asunder; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven.”

2 Kings 2:12 “And Elisha saw [it], and he cried, My father, my father, the chariot of Israel, and the horsemen thereof. And he saw him no more: and he took hold of his own clothes, and rent them in two pieces.”

4. LACK OF AWARENESS: The problem with many people is that they are in the middle of a move of God or a catching up moment and they never knew it. This is the worst thing that can ever happen to a man.

God will be literally moving and people are still busy asking questions and querying what was happening. Such was the situation in our focal scripture.

To be continued…
