Make progress-1

Make progress-1
Matthew 14:25 “And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea.”

The Greek word “peripateō” which was used in our focal scripture to represent “walking” has several meanings. One of the meaning is “make progress” or “advance by setting foot upon”. I love that!

Remember, the bible says:

Matthew 14:24 “But the ship was now in the midst of the sea, tossed with waves: for the wind was contrary.”

In order words, the wind was contrary and there was a great tumult and tossing around of the disciples and the ship. Confusion, fear and panic everywhere but in the midst of all these, Jesus made progress!

I have long discovered that when there is a stirring and trouble in the eyes of man, God is only seeing progress. When the wind of life is blowing contrary to you, to your business, to your career and to your academics, it is an indication that God want to advance you.

God is a God of progress. Somebody said, “Two thirds of the name of God is GO!”. Science told us that stagnant water stinks.

Life was designed for movement and progress. That’s why every living thing is expected to grow, and growth represents progress. If you remain in a particular place for long without moving, you’ll start losing the use of your legs.

The challenge however is that progress is often made in the midst of crisis. Growth is never comfortable.

Beloved, what can you deduce from the challenges around you? Are you making progress or sitting down to cry?

There was famine all over the world and Joseph became very wealthy in the midst of that economic meltdown. Joseph made progress.

Jesus didn’t even stay back on the shore, he made progress and Peter eventually joined him in making progress by walking on water. Peter went down history lane as the only man aside Jesus who has ever walked on water but it was done during a crisis!

To be continued…
