Suspended blessing
2 Kings 4:6 “And it came to pass, when the vessels were full, that she said unto her son, Bring me yet a vessel. And he said unto her, [There is] not a vessel more. And the oil stayed.”

This widow did all she was asked to do and the miracle began in earnest. The small jar of oil began to fill the big jars!

She kept filling the empty vessels until there was no more empty vessel to be filled. The interesting thing however is that the oil in the small jar did not finish, the Bible says, “… And the oil stayed.”

The Hebrew word used here for “stayed” is the word “amad” which means to wait, delay or suspend.

Beloved, I want you to know that where you stop is where God stops. God cannot force a miracle on you. The room you make for God is the one He occupies. The number of empty vessels you provide is what He will fill.

If you stop at ten, He stops at ten. If you stop at hundred or a thousand that’s where He stops. When you tell Him you’re done, He agrees with you. The things of the spirit and slippery, God won’t take you heyond the point you’re willing to go.

Apostle Paul wrote:

Philippians 3:10 “That I may know him…”

When a man that wrote seventy five per cent of the New Testament, towards his latter years still desires to know more of God, you should know that you and I are just starting, Paul never stopped knowing Hiim, He kept providing empty vessels and God kept filling them.

Friend, the oil in the small jar never stopped flowing, it got “suspended”. It was suspended because there was no more room. The truth is that God can never finish! Your miracles can never finish, they can only be suspended or delayed by you.

Beloved, in what area have your “oil strayed?”. It didn’t end it simply got “stayed” and when something get stayed in modern language it means it is on “Pause”.

I pray for you today, what ever blessing is paused over your life is released now. Whatever has been suspended begins to flow from now. No more waiting, no more delays in Jesus name.
