Limiting a limitless God-13

Limiting a limitless God-13
Psalms 78:41 “Yea, they turned back and tempted God, and limited the Holy One of Israel.”

…From yesterday…

5. OFFENSE

Matthew 11:6 “And blessed is [he], whosoever shall not be offended in me.”

John the Baptist was Jesus’ “spiritual father”, he commissioned him into ministry after announcing him to the whole world. As time goes by however, he ran into problems with the government and rather than send to Jesus to help him out, he became offended and doubted the ability of God.

He limited Jesus through offence and eventually lost his head.

He sent his disciples to go ask Jesus why he has not come to bail him out and Jesus told his disciples to go back and tell him about the great works they see and the demonstration of God’s power. He however added that even though these mighty works are taking place, it will not work for John because he was already offended!

I’ve come across such men before; who became angry and offended just because they felt God has not been fair to them. Some claim they have been in church for long and their problem is not yet solved, whereas first timers are sharing testimonies.

Some believed God for something and felt it is taking too long in coming and became offended in God. Others have had an unpalatable experience in the past and as a result came to the conclusion that there are certain things God cannot do.

Beloved, never you get offended in God and in the things of the Spirit, once the devil gets you into that mode, he will remove your head!

6. DISHONOUR

Matthew 13:57 “And they were offended in him. But Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not without honour, save in his own country, and in his own house.”

Jesus said those folks in his home country have dishonoured God and as a result limited Him. One of the things that greatly restricts the operation of God in and around a man is dishonour.
