Limiting a limitless God-10
Psalms 78:41 “Yea, they turned back and tempted God, and limited the Holy One of Israel.”
David is always quick to remember and recall the past deeds of God in his life and that of the children of Israel.
Psalms 119:167 “My soul hath kept thy testimonies; and I love them exceedingly.”
Psalms 119:111 “Thy testimonies have I taken as an heritage for ever: for they [are] the rejoicing of my heart.”
The word “testimony” means evidence given in a court or proof that supports a fact or a claim. David was always talking about God’s past deeds, and each time you do that, you bring the unlimitedness of God to bare on a matter. Friend, never forget what God has done in your life and much more declare it!
Matthew 13:55 “Is not this the carpenter’s son? is not his mother called Mary? and his brethren, James, and Joses, and Simon, and Judas?”
Matthew 13:56 “And his sisters, are they not all with us?…”
Familiarity is an unwelcome intimacy that is presumptuous. It means knowing something so well that it becomes so common it loses value. This is an improper and inappropriate informality.
Jesus was limited in his own country because the people felt they know him too well. They kept saying, “He is the son of a carpenter, his brothers and sisters are here with us.”
They probably knew when he was born in a manger not a proper hospital. They know him so well that they could not relate to him as God. Many people in our days also loses their refrence for God due to familiarity.
Many folks are so familiar with their pastors and the anointing God placed over their head, that God couldn’t use such anointing to help them.
When you become so familiar with the things of the spirit, you become a profane man like Esau; who had no regard for spiritual things.
Familiarity will always limit God and put restrictions on what He can do in our lives.
To be continued…
