Don’t settle in haran-12
Don’t settle in haran-12
Genesis 11:31 “And Terah took Abram his son, and Lot the son of Haran his son’s son, and Sarai his daughter in law, his son Abram’s wife; and they went forth with them from Ur of the Chaldees, to go into the land of Canaan; and they came unto Haran, and dwelt there.”
Genesis 11:32 “And the days of Terah were two hundred and five years: and Terah died in Haran.”
…From yesterday…
Can you imagine God, the Ageless One, the Ancient of Days telling Joshua he is old! Joshua was not yet as old as Terah but God said he was old.
That is the danger of pseudo success. No matter what you may have achieved, thank God for it, but quickly dispel it as Haran and set new “Canaan” goals. Don’t let men clap for you too soon. There is yet more land to conquer!
The third reason I saw, that makes men park up in Haran is what I called LACK OF PASSION or PURSUIT.
Many people truly set out for Canaan, just like Terah and his family but somewhere along the line, they lose their vitality, passion and willingness to pursue. They simply lose their tenacity and become tired and weary.
Friend, in the journey of life and destiny, their will be several depressing situations that will want us to quit. The devil, as well as men will try as much as possible to frustrate our efforts.
If you’re not careful the enemy will weary you out of your dreams. Many times he won’t come directly, he will most times allow you get to Haran, then orchestrate troubles and barriers to keep you there but you must make up your mind to defile all odds in order to get to Canaan.
Look at these folks:
Mark 2:3 “And they come unto him, bringing one sick of the palsy, which was borne of four.”
Mark 2:4 “And when they could not come nigh unto him for the press, they uncovered the roof where he was and when they had broken it up they let down the bed wherein the sick of the palsy lay”
