​Don’t settle in haran-10

Genesis 11:31 “And Terah took Abram his son, and Lot the son of Haran his son’s son, and Sarai his daughter in law, his son Abram’s wife; and they went forth with them from Ur of the Chaldees, to go into the land of Canaan; and they came unto Haran, and dwelt there.”

Genesis 11:32 “And the days of Terah were two hundred and five years: and Terah died in Haran.”

…From yesterday…

There are things that must be included in your life as a matter of necessity. You must know what your vision require and feeds on and give it your best shot. Hear this:

Matthew 14:23 “And when he had sent the multitudes away he went up into a mountain apart to pray and when the evening was come he was there alone.”

Luke 6:12 “And it came to pass in those days, that he went out into a mountain to pray and continued all night in prayer to God.”

The scripture here shows us one of the things Jesus’ vision requires him to do. As God as Jesus was while here on earth he prayed earnestly. He never joked with his prayer life. He was committed to his vision. 

Friend, what are the things your vision requires you to do consistently? Do you know them in details? Are you doing them?

The second reason I see why men dwell in Haran is what I call PSEUDO SUCCESS. 

Pseudo success means pretentious, false or fake success. This is an appearance of success that is not commensurate to the real one. I liken this to a man running a race that is to take him two (2) hours and he started leading after about thirty (30) minutes and everyone in the stadium starts clapping for him and he feels on top of the world. 

He started enjoying the euphoria and the applause, thinking he has won already, forgetting he still has one and half hours to go. That is pseudo success. 

Friend, don’t let men clap for you too soon. The journey is far, there is always more.
