Don’t settle in haran-7

Genesis 11:31 “And Terah took Abram his son, and Lot the son of Haran his son’s son, and Sarai his daughter in law, his son Abram’s wife; and they went forth with them from Ur of the Chaldees, to go into the land of Canaan; and they came unto Haran, and dwelt there.”

Genesis 11:32 “And the days of Terah were two hundred and five years: and Terah died in Haran.”

…From yesterday…

The word “dwelt” also mean to marry. This is another dangerous thing to do in or with Haran. To marry as used here is to join oneself or become one with Haran.

A marriage is a covenant joining involving the spirit, soul and body. To get married in Haran means to adopt the culture, practises, believes and tradition of Haran. It means to start worshipping or bowing to the gods of Haran.

Beloved, don’t become one or yoked together with Haran. Their ways are different from the ways of the Living God. Never allow anything come between you and God.

Terah got married to Haran and in no time he died there. Friend, don’t let the enemy trick you away from God. Don’t let him use money, job, friends and other things to replace God in your life. Whatever competes with God in your life is Haran. Once you identify it, run!

Now, let’s consider some of the reasons why men dwell in Haran. The reson why many people settle down and make Haran home.

The first reason is lack of vision. Vision is the picture of the future you envisioned. It is that which you desire to happen or that which you seek to achieve.

A vision is like an architectural blue print for a building. It is also a road map to a desired destination. Without a vision you follow every road you see; settle down wherever you get to and run your life without control.

Hear this:

Proverbs 29:18 “Where there is no vision, the people perish but he that keepeth the law, happy is he”
