Don’t settle in haran-4
Genesis 11:31 “And Terah took Abram his son, and Lot the son of Haran his son’s son, and Sarai his daughter in law, his son Abram’s wife; and they went forth with them from Ur of the Chaldees, to go into the land of Canaan; and they came unto Haran, and dwelt there.”
Genesis 11:32 “And the days of Terah were two hundred and five years: and Terah died in Haran.”
They got there to discover a five start hotel and resort, exclusive rooms, sumptuous meals, accommodation that is fit only for kings and of course, a helicopter flight back home!
The ones stuck at the campsite had to climb down the hilly path and took another bus ride on a rough road back home.
Those majority mistook the campsite for the mountain top, they turned Haran to Canaan. They allowed a little nice meal deny them the comfort of a sumptuous intercontinental dish. They allowed a good room deny them the comfort of a palatial accommodation. They eventuually missed the meeting and the beauty of the mountain top view,
Friend, what will it be? Haran or Canaan? Campsite or five star hotel? Helicopter flight or bus ride on a hilly and bumpy road? The choice is yours!
Beloved, before you start blaming Terah, flogging him in your mind and pouring venom on him, I want you to know he is not alone in this, we are all guilty of the same offense. Take a look at your life, are you doing what you actually set out to do? Are you where you set out to be?
As a student, are you actually studying the course you set out to study? What was your last grade in school? Is that satisfactory enough?
As a businessman or woman is this where you want to be? As a career person are you making progress?
As a marketer, do you have the number of customers you envisioned? Are your products in the cities and locations you want to them to be?
To be continued…
